Police say $8,000 charged on credit cards stolen from Columbia fitness club

Howard County Police have released photos of three suspects allegedly  involved in charging $8,000 on stolen credit cards taken from locker rooms  inside the Supreme Sports Club in Columbia.

The cards were used to purchase gift cards at a nearby CVS  Pharmacy, according to police.

About 2:30 p.m. on April 20, police said they responded to a report of theft  from the locker rooms of the gym, which is in the 7000 block of Deepage  Drive.

Police said two gym patrons reported having several items, including credit  cards and cash, stolen from their lockers, which police say were broken into  with the use of a sharp tool to cut the pad locks.

The two victims discovered charges to their cards were made at a nearby drug  store.

Police say four other lockers had marks that indicated an attempted break-in,  but that they were not opened.

The gym manager told police two suspicious individuals, who were not wearing  workout clothes and did not have gym memberships, entered the gym about 1:55  p.m., according to police.

Police said the men paid to enter the gym and went into the locker  rooms.

Video surveillance from the CVS, located in the 8600 block of Guilford Road,  revealed that one of the suspects at the gym and a third suspect, a woman, used  multiple credit cards to purchase $8,000 worth of gift cards.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 410-313-STOP. Citizens may  also provide anonymous tips through the free smartphone app, “iWatchHowardCounty.”
