LA Fitness Takes Legal Action Against Related Companies for Equinox and SoulCycle Ventures
LA Fitness, owned by Fitness International, has initiated a lawsuit against real estate development firm Related Companies over their proposed Equinox facility and the presence of an outdoor SoulCycle pop-up location within an office complex owned by Related Companies. Recent reports indicate that the legal action was filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court in April.
According to the lawsuit, since November, Related Companies has permitted the operation of the SoulCycle pop-up at The Square, an office complex situated in West Palm Beach, Florida. Furthermore, Related Companies has intentions to include an Equinox location within one of the two office towers planned for The Square. Fitness International contends that Related Companies is infringing on their lease agreement, which supposedly grants Fitness International exclusive rights to any fitness establishment within The Square.
It is worth noting that some of the individuals behind Related Companies also hold ownership stakes in Equinox and SoulCycle, having acquired Equinox in 2006.
