The owner of a gym in Oceanside was arrested Tuesday and charged with making more than $30,000 in purchases with credit card information stolen from clients, police said.

Thomas Donovan, 39, of Island Park faces third-degree grand larceny, first- and second-degree identity theft and other charges, according to police.

Nassau County police said the arrest of Donovan, owner of 5 Star Kickboxing on Lawson Boulevard, followed an investigation into the thefts, which occurred in November and December. Donovan was arrested outside his home, police said.

Police said that “on numerous occasions” Donovan used credit card account numbers stolen from business clients to make purchases totaling more than $30,000 at Home Depot stores in Nassau and Suffolk.

Police said that during execution of a search warrant at Donovan’s home detectives recovered an unlicensed handgun that had been defaced to remove its serial numbers, as well as “a quantity of steroids.”
