The Millennium Sports Club in Vacaville is now under new ownership.In-Shape Health Clubs announced last week that it bought the Millennium network of five health clubs, which includes the locations in Vacaville, Fairfield, Vallejo, Shingle Springs and Merced.”This is an exciting time for In-Shape,” said In-Shape Executive Director Paul Rothbard. “We are thrilled to welcome the Millennium clubs to our family. We’re fortunate to enhance the options that we offer our members by adding these premium clubs to our network.”Vacaville already has two In-Shape Health Clubs, one off of Elmira Drive and another off of Alamo Drive. On the website for Millenium Sports Club it said they are “proud” to announce that their locations are now part of the In-Shape network clubs.Michelle Clark with In-Shape Health Clubs explained that initially the company isn’t changing anything.”We’re looking at each club separately,” she said. “Traditionally Millennium clubs are a higher end facility and we want to keep it that way.”She said during the next two weeks, members and employees at Millennium will take surveys about what’s going really well and what needs improving.”We’re trying to learn more,” Clark said. “We don’t want to come in and change something that’s doing well.”However, $7 million has been set aside for the five clubs for upgrades and improvements where needed. For the month of October all Millennium members can use any In-Shape facility. However, in order for an In-Shape member to use the Millennium club they’ll have to upgrade their membership. We’re evaluating the membership style to get a better understanding, but we don’t quite know yet how everything will work,” Clark said. The five new full-service clubs offer racquetball, tennis, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball, volleyball and other unique programs and amenities specific to each location.”The addition of these distinctive facilities and talented staff members will complement the existing In-Shape clubs and enhance what the company can offer to current members and the community,” according to In-Shape officials in a press release. “In-Shape plans to retain all Millennium employees and continue the terrific programming that goes on every day in these clubs.”According to In-Shape, the clubs are ranked one of the top 20 health club companies in the United States.”At In-Shape, we’re always trying to bring the best and most convenient health and fitness resources to our members,” said Rob Farrens, In-Shape’s chief marketing officer. “We’ve taken that to a new level with the addition of the Millennium clubs. We’re looking forward to expanding our presence in these markets and offering even more than we ever have before.”Millennium’s Facebook page is encouraging its members to fill out the surveys available in the lobby and to make sure e-mail addresses are up-to-date in order to receive updates on all renovation plans.
