HEALTH CLUB NEWS: Trainer at Holmdel L.A. Fitness Arrested Before For Groping Woman

HEALTH CLUB NEWS: A man who worked as the top personal trainer at the Holmdel L.A. Fitness has been arrested before for groping a woman at the gym — but the charges were dropped and the fitness club kept him on as an employee. Then in July of this year, he was arrested a second time, again for groping a woman.

The first alleged incident happened on March 27, 2016, the victim said. She worked as an employee at the L.A. Fitness at the time, and her job was to sign up new clients. George Walker, Jr., a 48-year-old Matawan man, worked as the Fitness Director at the gym, meaning he oversaw all the personal trainers.

HEALTH CLUB NEWS: “He was saying very inappropriate things to me and grabbed one of my breasts,” said the alleged victim. “I called the cops and he was arrested in his home later that day.”

Holmdel police confirmed they arrested Walker in March of last year and charged him with criminal sexual contact. The case went to court and the charge against Walker ended up being dropped, however.

“We went to court a few times; he got a lawyer, I didn’t. We went all the way to trial, but because there was no physical evidence the judge said she had no choice but to let him go,” the young woman said. “No one took me seriously and look, it happened again.”

Walker was given his job back. On Saturday, July 8 of this year he was arrested by Holmdel police again, this time for inappropriately touching a woman while she was working out. The woman said Walker made several inappropriate and vulgar comments to her, and then grabbed her in an intimate area.

HEALTH CLUB NEWS: A man who identified himself as the manager at the Holmdel L.A. Fitness said he did not work there in 2016 and he couldn’t speak to any of their hiring decisions. Walker no longer works at the Holmdel L.A. Fitness.
