CLARENCE, NY– A Clarence fitness instructor has been charged with felonies that include assault and giving a college intern a date rape drug.

44-year-old Donald Alessi Junior of Orchard Park has been charged with Assault, and with giving GHB, a commonly known date rape drug, to a college intern working for him at Alessi Fitness Kids in Williamsville.

Police say the arrest comes after a lengthy investigation of an incident that allegedly took place in April 2012.

Donald Alessi Junior was arraigned in Clarence Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
