Urban Active ranks No. 9 nationwide for club revenue.

Global Fitness Holdings LLC, which does business as Urban Active, ranked No. 9 on Club Industry Magazine’s list of the top 100 health club companies in the United States, based on revenue.

The Lexington, Ky., company, which has four locations in Louisville, reported sales of $107.5 million in 2011, according to a news release.

Urban Active ranked No. 11 in 2010, when it had revenue of $100.2 million. The company has 36 U.S. locations in seven states, according to its Web site, www.urbanactive.com.

The top five fitness chains on the list are: 24 Hour Fitness ($1.5 billion in revenue), LA Fitness ($1.2 billion); Life Time Fitness ($1 billion); Club Corp. ($725 million); Bally Total Fitness ($468 million).
