Planet Fitness to open 31 gyms in the Phoenix market and 15 in Tucson

A former F-16 fighter pilot who was stationed at Luke Air Force Base    wants to open 31 Planet Fitness gyms in the Phoenix market and 15 in Tucson over the next four to five years.

Kevin Kelly owns a franchise in Philadelphia and has acquired the rights to Arizona’s two largest metros.

Kelly was a pilot in the U.S. Navy and then served as an F-16 instructor at Luke in Glendale from 1999 to 2002. He’s coming back to Arizona with aspirations to establish a foothold for the Planet Fitness business model.
