Ozarks Fitness has been purchased by Genesis Health Clubs. – Impact on Current Members Unclear

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A popular fitness center in Springfield has been bought out.

Ozarks Fitness has been purchased by Genesis Health Clubs.

Genesis operates fitness clubs in Kansas.

The sale included both Ozarks Fitness locations in Springfield.

Genesis says it’s working on remodel plans.

The announcement of the sale did not address what the transaction means for current Ozarks Fitness members.

GENESIS HEALTH CLUBS PURCHASES OZARK FITNESS CENTERS
(SPRINGFIELD, MO) – Genesis Health Clubs has purchased both Ozark Fitness Centers located at 1249 East Battlefield and 1828 North Glenstone in Springfield, MO. Currently Genesis owns/operates 15 clubs in Wichita, Hutchinson, Salina, Emporia, Lawrence, Leavenworth and McPherson, Kansas and one club in St. Joseph, Missouri. With 28 years of experience and great expertise in the health and fitness industry, they are looking forward to bringing their passion for health and fitness and excellence in customer services to Springfield.
For several months, Rodney Steven II, Owner of Genesis Health Clubs, has been working with the Dan Martin, owner of Ozark Fitness, on the sale of the both North and South locations.

He and Ozark Fitness have been warriors for the health and fitness industry for years, and we are looking forward to working with him to continue and expand on his fitness legacy.” said Steven.
Remodel plans/drawings are in the works for both locations. Genesis is known for their luxurious locker rooms, spacious weight rooms and cardio areas as well as specialized amenities and beautiful finishings in their clubs. They plan on bringing those same features
to both locations. New cycle bikes will be added to the clubs right away to replace the old ones.
