Metroflex Gym Plano “Hard Core Gym With a Great New Facility!!!

This is certainly not your parents’ fitness center but maybe it should be

If you have recently driven down Premier Drive behind Crest Cadillac you will see a large building going up with a sign for Metroflex Gym Plano. This will be their new home, which they hope will be opening in late mid May or early June. Metroflex Gym currently resides in an industrial park between K Avenue and Dobie in east Plano behind the Bullet Trap. If you stop by to check it out it doesn’t take long to discover that this is not your run of the mill corporately owned and operate gym. As advertised it is truly “hard core”. No chrome, no carpet, but a lot of attitude!

The gym is the home to some of the top strength athletes in North Texas, Steve Kuclo, 2012 Mr.USA, the current Mr. Texas Tyrus Hughes, current Mr. Teen USA Cody Montgomery are just a few of the body builders and physique competitors that train there. Also there is a host of attractive young ladies that train here who compete in the bikini, figure and fitness, including  Tawna Eubanks, one of the top up and coming IFBB Bikini Pro’s, who recently place 9th in her first Arnold Classic Invitational competition. Also some of the top Power Lifters and Strongman Competitor train there. Namely current Texas Strongest Man, Luke Herrick, National Bench Press record holder Craig Koffler, and National Women’s Record Holder Jodi Miller. Metroflex Gym Plano also has had a significant number of high school, college and pro-athletes, including football players, volleyball, basketball and MMA fighters.

With the diverse membership, Metroflex Gym also has some of the top Trainers in the DFW area, they have leading certifications, and with many also having degrees in their areas of expertise. They  nearly all have competed and coached in Bodybuilding; Physique competition; Power lifting; Olympic style weight lifting, Football; Volleyball; Track and Field; Strength and Conditioning.

The gym is certainly not limited to competitive athletes. Greg McCoy the owner, who is a competitive bodybuilder and power lifter, will tell you that the general population is very welcome and those who over come their initial concern or intimidation will find it is a very fun and friendly atmosphere but training is taken very serious! “It’s like one big family, whether it’s your first day in the gym or you’re a national champion, we all get along great and feed off each other” –says McCoy.

The new facility will be shared with Ultimate Sports Nutrition, which supplies the very best in nutritional supplements at wholesale pricing. Also, GASP and Better Bodies clothing will have its warehouse and showroom located in the same building. GASP and Better Bodies is one of the world’s top fitness clothing brands, originating in the Nordics but pushing hard to become a household name for those living the extreme fitness lifestyle in America. These three great businesses will create what they are calling the “Destination”. This will be THE place for fitness enthusiasts in Dallas, in Texas, in the US, and in the world to visit and participate in training camps, seminar events, and social gatherings to rub shoulders with and learn from the industry’s best.

Metroflex Gym Plano provides a hard-core niche in the fitness market and is know through out the US and Internationally. Some of the top competitors in the world have stopped by for a workout or a photo shoot while in the Dallas Area. The hard-core atmosphere may not be for very one but everyone is welcome to come check it out, it is a very unique place right here in Plano!
