Life Time Expands its Growing US Portfolio with Two Regional Lifestyle Clubs
Life Time, the full-service health club operator, has added two new regional lifestyle clubs to its portfolio of over 230 locations. The Harbour Island Athletic Club in Tampa, Florida, and the Athletic Club Northeast in Atlanta, Georgia, were taken over by Life Time after securing long-term leases with landlord RMR Group. Both clubs are set to reopen as Life Time athletic country clubs in the coming months, offering the company’s Healthy Way of Life programmes.
The move comes as Life Time continues its expansion plans, with new sites set to open in Stamford, Miami, Beaverton, Shenandoah, Sienna, and Clarendon this year, and Denver and Westlake in 2024. The addition of the Harbour Island and Athletic Club Northeast brings the company’s total number of locations to 234, making it one of the largest health club operators in the US.
Parham Javaheri, Life Time’s chief property development officer, expressed his excitement about the new acquisitions: “This was a terrific opportunity to expand Life Time’s presence in the Tampa and Atlanta markets with additional athletic country clubs and elevated experiences.”
With the closure of the two clubs earlier this year, the partnership between Life Time and RMR Group represents a significant move towards the company’s growth strategy.
