IHRSA Names Brent Darden As Interim CEO…Joe Moore Steps Down As IHRSA CEO

Brent Darden is taking on the interim CEO role at the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) after former IHRSA CEO Joe Moore resigned last week, IHRSA announced on Aug. 21. The appointment is effective immediately.

Darden served on the IHRSA board of directors from 2010 through 2015. During that time, he was nominations committee chairperson, vice-chairperson, chairperson of the board, and ex-officio.

He currently chairs several REX Executive Roundtables for club owners and operators in the industry.

Darden has spent years in the fitness industry in various roles, including vice president at Cooper Aerobics Enterprises and CEO at Telos Fitness Center. He also worked in corporate wellness with Texas Instruments and Northern Telecom.

Darden has advised hundreds of fitness brands and delivered keynote presentations around the world on leadership, employee engagement, customer experience, winning habits, and brand frameworks, among other topics.

He has a master’s degree in exercise science from Baylor University and began his career as a front desk attendant and fitness floor instructor at the First Baptist Church of Waco Life Recreation Center.
