HONOLULU: Punahou Fitness Center opens after $500,000 renovation

HONOLULU – www.punahoufitnesscenter.org – Punahou Fitness Center (PFC), synonymous with health and fitness for nearly 40 years on Oahu, today announced its official grand opening. Owner and CEO Jason Maxwell, a certified personal trainer with nearly 20 years in the fitness industry, worked with investors to complete the massive, $500,000 renovation and refurbishment of the 10,000-square-foot center, which opened to the public on Oct. 15. Offering more amenities than almost all other Oahu clubs, the new PFC is sure to “wow” both new and existing members. Attendees of the Dec. 1 grand opening will enjoy free giveaways, health classes, mini massages, demonstrations, facility tours, and much more.

As CEO, the Honolulu native and Kamehameha Schools graduate oversees all aspects of PFC, including operations, finance, membership and sales, marketing, group classes and personal training. Maxwell holds an extensive history in health promotion and management of individual physical fitness. An expert in functional fitness, Maxwell also has experience with special population individuals who have physical challenges or conditions, such as those battling Parkinson’s, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), or MS, or recovering from an injury. Prior to PFC, Maxwell most recently was the Owner of Max Fitness Hawaii.
