A new health club will open its doors Sat., Sept. 22 at the SimsburyCommons.

The Zoo Health Club, a Florida-based franchise, will be located in the former EMS and Coldstone Creamery locations at the Simsbury Commons, 498 Bushy Hill Road. To celebrate its opening, the fitness center is offering a discounted enrollment fee of $10 for the first 500 members who sign up, according to staff.

Memberships typically start at $19.99 a month.

Co-managed by personal trainer John Evans and his wife Morgan Hilyard-Evans, the Simsbury location will be the first of its kind in New England.

“We are excited to be the first in New England to offer this exciting brand,” Hilyard-Evans, a Canton native, said in a press release. “We pride ourselves on using the best equipment and technology at affordable prices to get the best results for our members.”
