Fitness First Pays $5.35M for Two New Maryland Health Clubs

Fitness First Health Clubs has acquired two facilities in Maryland for a total of $5.349 million. Broad Street’s Christopher Coccaro, Jeff Massie and Nick Finelli brokered both transactions.

The first property, formerly the Frederick Athletic Club at 5245 Westview Drive in Frederick, MD, is a 23,011 square foot retail health club building built in 1999.

Fitness First will continue to operate the former Frederick Athletic Club without any interruption to current members and gradual changes will be made to transition to the Fitness First model.

The second property, a 17,670 square foot flex/retail building built in 1990, is located at 18810 Woodfield Rd in Gaithersburg, MD. This property will include brand new construction inside and will open to the public sometime in the end of 2012.

Founded in 1991, Fitness First has 17 locations throughout DC, MD and VA.
