HEALTH CLUB NEWS jpg 1Gym Members Billed Nearly $3K By MistakeSome gym members are finding their bodies and wallets a bit leaner: one of those instances chalked up to a giant billing mistake.

Members at Fitness Connection say they’ve found their bank accounts drafted far beyond the cost of their monthly memberships.

The company’s website shows it has gyms in North Carolina, Texas, and Nevada.  North Carolina locations are spread out between Raleigh, Charlotte, and one club in Greenville.

At least one Greenville resident told WITN $2,900 was taken from her bank account.  The monthly fee that is supposed to debited from her bank account is $29.  She spoke with Bank of America, who said they were receiving a lot of phone calls about the same issue.

Senior Vice President of Operations for Fitness Connection, Josh Harwood, said the company is working to correct the mistake.

“We want to make things right for the members,” said Harwood.

The Senior V.P. said the vendor who processes billing for Fitness Connection mistakenly billed customers and they are not sure yet how that happened.

Harwood added they would work with the vendor to find a “total solution” for any customers who suffered financial consequences at the expense of the mistake. Some gym members are finding their bodies and wallets a bit leaner: one of those instances chalked up to a giant billing mistake.
