As the search continues for the gunman who shot and killed the owner of a Winter Garden gym in front of a group of clients, the Crossfit community in Central Florida is morning the man’s death.
Wednesday, the medical examiner’s office confirmed the victim was Richard Millsap, the owner of the CrossFit Mosaic Gym, where Winter Garden Police said a man walked in and opened fire on the victim in front of eight other people at the gym.
Witnesses and gym clients identified the victim Tuesday as Millsap, saying he inspired many of them to change their lives.
Now, members of another CrossFit gym in Orlando are reaching out and planning a benefit workout in Millsap’s memory.
Wednesday on Facebook, the Armor CrossFit gym posted the following message:
“Ok folks, we (the Central Florida CrossFit community) are going to run a benefit WOD [Workout of the Day] for the family of Richard Millsap on August 31 at 10 a.m.
It is a WOD that Richard programmed that we will call ‘Millsap.’ Let’s show up guys, this is family, let’s really promote this. It needs to be CrossFit wide!!!!
$10 buy in and any other donations will be greatly appreciated.”

Police said a dark-skinned man with his face covered and wearing sunglasses marched into the gym Monday, targeting Millsap.
