• Anytime Fitness, Hastings, MN, has been named to Forbes magazine’s list of America’s Most Promising Companies, according to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. Anytime ranks No. 14 on the list of 50 privately owned companies. Forbes picked the 50 companies based on growth (both in sales and hiring), quality of management team and investors, margins, market size and key partnerships, the newspaper reported. The full list will be released online Feb. 6.
• Snap Fitness, Chanhassen, MN, will hold a grand opening Thursday for a Rolling Strong gym at the Pilot Travel Center in Lebanon, TN. There will be a special VIP event at noon Central time, with representatives from Snap Fitness, Rolling Strong, and Pilot Flying J in attendance to conduct a “belt-cutting” ceremony to celebrate the opening of the second-ever Snap Fitness Rolling Strong gym. The first gym opened last June in Dallas. Each gym, located at a Pilot Flying J travel center or travel plaza, is staffed by fitness professionals and includes a variety of fitness equipment. Monthly gym dues are $19.95 for the trucking community.
• Gold’s Gym International, Irving, TX, announced that Medallia, Palo Alto, CA, was voted Vendor of the Year by Gold’s Gym franchisees. Medallia is a creator of SaaS customer experience management (CEM) solutions. Gold’s Gym has expanded its use of Medallia to include Medallia Social Feedback, which monitors online social reputation and immediately routes social feedback directly to gym managers to take action. This helps them improve social scores at the location and brand levels.
• Western Athletic Clubs (WAC), San Francisco, has formed a partnership with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban from the ABC TV show “Shark Tank” and Mike Hartwick, founder and CEO of Surfset, a core and stabilizer fitness program. The partnership made WAC the first fitness club in Northern California to offer the Surfset program. In addition to Surfset, WAC also announced several new fitness programs, including Les Mills’ Grit and Wellness FX.
