Anytime Fitness… City Councillors voted unanimously to reject club

PLANS to establish the first 24-hour gym in Northbridge have been rejected by Willoughby Council.

Councillors voted unanimously last week to reject an Anytime Fitness proposal to fit out Lots 34 and 38 of Castle Gardens apartment complex, 135 Sailors Bay Rd, Northbridge.

Councillor John Hooper moved the motion for refusal on the grounds that the applicant’s proposal would cause unacceptable amenity impacts, does not meet on-site car parking requirements and is not in the interests of the public.

Sailors Bay ward councillors Hugh Eriksson and Gail Giles-Gidney both declared an interest in the matter and took no part in discussion or voting.
