Anytime Fitness centers in Newton and Manhattan are open again, following an agreement reached between the owner and the state Department of Revenue, according to a news release from the state.

According to revenue department officials, the owner of the fitness centers and the state reached a payment arrangement Friday afternoon. “The business assets have been released and the business re-opened,” the release stated.

The state had announced on Wednesday that the fitness centers were closed and the business assets of the owner seized because the state claimed that the owner, Gunderson LLC, owed $19,577 in state sales and individual income taxes.
