Successful gym expands to new location

health club news

Anytime Fitness of St. John will soon have a new location that’s bigger with more amenities.

“We have been fortunate to have been so well received in the community that when our members asked for a larger building we were able to comply,” said Josh Canarini, owner of Anytime Fitness St. John.

The one-year-old, 24-hour fitness center will be moving in June from its current location at 10865 Maple Lane to a new building right behind it at 10845 Maple Lane. The new facility, which will be more than 6,000 square feet, has upped its amenities to fit its new digs.

Anytime Fitness St John opened in September of 2013. The fitness chain stays active in the community by supporting youth athletics and offering senior discounts through the Silver Sneaker Program along with other programs.

Canarini said his clientele grew out of the current building. The new location will offer a wide variety of classes and amenities including tanning, hydro massage, live and virtual classes, personal training, and 24- hour access year round. Classes will be included in the monthly fee.

Like all 24-hour Fitness gyms, members require a personal key card so they can work out whenever the mood strikes them. According to its website, the company’s headquarters are in Minnesota and there are available franchises.

“It’s so convenient,” said Julia Roberson, a St. John Anytime Fitness club manager.

For those who want to work out after hours, the health club also features a safety wall full of life alert necklaces.

But, according to Canarini, there have been no safety emergencies since the club opened.

“People love using the club with their crazy work schedules,” added club manager Shanna Canarini.

She said Anytime Fitness St. John will be closed for a few days when they make the move in June and will have a grand opening to welcome everyone to the new location.
