LA Fitness supporting the 30-day pizza diet McClellan says it’s a combination of things – you have to stay active. He says that is what worked for him. “I will be honest with you. I shocked myself. Dropping 86 points on cholesterol, lowered blood pressure to 118 over 80, dropping 10 percent body fat on pizza only diet – I blew everyone away.” The idea started 5 years ago. Back then, he was kicked out of a gym for bringing pizza in as a vendor. “So many people complained I brought a ‘junk food’ to the gym and they wanted me removed.” He then conquered a 30-day pizza diet – to prove to everyone, it could be healthy. “I got a doctor, got a nutritionist, got blood work … I ate one slice every 2 1/2 hours, changed up the nutritional value and for 1 hour worked out everyday,” he says. Now, the accomplished body imagine competitor, marathon runner, and pizza maker says as his story comes full circle, it’s not done yet. “This originated in a gym, then got success in the same gym … Now five years later I am selling pizza inside the largest health club chain in the country. This is the first gym I am selling pizza in – and it won’t be the last.” Tour de Pizza is at 212 37th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg.
