LA Fitness Personal Trainers Accused of Stealing from Members

Two personal trainers at an LA Fitness in Texas were arrested and face 13 criminal counts of theft and credit card abuse for allegedly stealing from members of the club.

Charles Justin Nance and Ryan Johnson worked at an LA Fitness in Sugar Land, TX, and took members’ car keys when they were not watching, according to a police investigation reported by Houston station KTRK-TV. Nance, who faces five counts, and Johnson, who faces eight counts, took property and credit cards from cars and lockers, police say.

“These individuals were somehow accessing into the vehicles and the lockers there at the gym and of course stealing items from the victims,” Sugar Land Police Department Sgt. Mike Richards told the TV station.

Police add that the two men did not work in tandem as criminals but committed the same crimes.

LA Fitness had fired Johnson over the allegations, and Nance was still working at the club when police arrested him, the station reported.
