Life Time Fitness events division moving to Louisville.
Life Time Fitness, the publicly traded company that owns 113 fitness and athletic centers around the country, is moving its athletic events division — and 55 jobs — to Louisville from Chanhassen, Minn.
Life Time Athletic Events owns and produces more than 65 run, bike and triathlon events in 50 locations, including the New York City Triathlon and the Leadville Race Series. The division’s regional offices, including its race headquarters in Leadville, will not move.
Louisville is a “natural fit” for the division, said senior vice president Kimo Seymour.
“The Front Range is very outdoor-minded with an active community that is active in a lot of the event spaces we are in,” Seymour said. “It’s a central spot in the country with a good lifestyle fit for our people and a good staffing talent pool there, not only in the event space but in the technology space.”
The company plans to fill at least 13 new positions locally. The move to Louisville’s Colorado Technology Center includes the company’s Life Time Media division, which oversees its athlinks.com race results database and ChronoTrack platform, which offers online race registration, scoring and race services. The company’s media and sponsorship sales team also will move to Louisville.
