Stabbing at health club started as argument inside, police .
A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing at a fitness center Monday evening.
Stephen Tyrone Stewart, 23, of 2708 Ralph John St. in Greensboro is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries.
Stewart is accused of stabbing a man in the parking lot of the Rush Fitness Complex at 3120 Randleman Road about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Stewart and the victim knew each other and got into an argument inside the gym, said Capt. Joel Cranford with Greensboro police.
The pair went outside and the argument turned physical, Cranford said.
It ended with one man stabbed and Stewart suffering from minor injuries he sustained during the assault, Cranford said.
Both men were taken to the hospital. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
Stewart was taken to the Guilford County Jail after being released from the hospital, where his bail was set at $10,000.

GREENSBORO − Police this evening responded to a report of a stabbing at a Rush Fitness Complex at 3120 Randleman Road, according to a news release.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the news release from Greensboro police.
Police were called to the scene at 6:34 p.m.
Police have not yet released any other information about the victim or any suspects.
