Offers Gym Passes To Settle Overcharge Suit

LA Fitness International LLC on Wednesday agreed to offer membership passes, cash credits and refunds to settle a putative class action filed in New Jersey federal court alleging the gym chain charged customers beyond the effective cancellation of their memberships.
U.S. District Court Judge William A. Walls approved a preliminary settlement that will provide affected customers a complimentary 45-day access pass, a check for a third of a month of dues, and a choice between two free training sessions or $100 towards a new membership, plus…
