Upscale Fitness Club Equinox Now Open

Paramus is now home to a whole new fitness experience.

Gym bags in hand, clients eagerly filed into the brand new Equinox Fitness Center Monday afternoon ready to experience the upscale and unique exercise methodology the club is known for nationally as well as internationally.

Mayor Richard LaBarbiera helped cut the ribbon alongside Scott Placona, general manager, officially marking the grand opening Monday.

“It’s with great pride that I get this opportunity to welcome a new great business in this great community,” said the mayor.

Staff members greeted new clients and welcomed people in to get a first look at the 2-story 30,000 square foot facility before classes officially began Monday evening.
The club includes just about every piece of cardio and strength training equipment there is while also catering to all things fitness with studios for yoga, pilates and cycling in addition to Equinox’s own workout formulas such as the fat-blasting Metcon3 and the total-body cross training Shockwave.

Catering to Equinox’s motto “it’s not fitness, it’s life,” the club features a juice bar and healthy snack area which sits right next to the apparel shop which carries sportswear lines such as Stella McCartney for Adidas and Lululemon.

The first floor houses the club’s spa and locker rooms which includes all one could want from showers and steam room to hairdryers and hairspray. There’s a spa area with numerous rooms for treatments and massages. The Kids Club with a full jungle theme has games and computers to keep children busy while their parents work out and train.

Cardio and strength training machines are located on both the first and second floor. The second floor is home to a cycling studio which has 45 exercise bikes, group fitness studio, yoga studio and Pilates room complete with apparatus.

The Paramus Equinox is the second location in New Jersey. The fitness club has 61 centers including London and most recently in Toronto. The new fitness club will be open 7 days a week.
