Gold’s Gym looking to end ties to Wisconsin franchisee

Gold’s Gym International is currently in discussions with one of its Wisconsin franchisees “to arrange a mutual parting of ways,” a Gold’s spokesman said Wednesday night.

The franchisee is Vertical Fitness Group LCC, which has five gyms in Wisconsin.

“Since these conversations are still ongoing, we can’t discuss the details at this point,” said Gold’s spokesman Dave Reiseman. “That said, we have (and will continue to have) terrific franchisees and a strong presence in the Milwaukee area. This includes the beautiful downtown Gold’s Gym location owned by Jeremy and Lori Lowell, which was just recognized with a series of awards for outstanding design.”

A Vertical Fitness spokesman could not be reached for comment.
