MXM Offers Health Clubs a Free Way to Capture Ideas for Surviving the COVID-19 Crisis

MXM is offering a platform to the industry that will share best practices for getting through the business shutdowns caused by COVID-19 spread.

MXM, a provider of member experience management solutions, is providing the industry a free system called the MXM Idea Lab that enables operators to get access to ideas for handling the coronavirus crisis.

We had to do what we could to help the industry in these challenging times,” Blair McHaney, CEO of MXM, owner of Worx Gyms of Wenatchee, and former president of the Gold’s Gym Franchise Association, said in a media release. “So, I decided to launch this idea-capture and voting platform and make it free for every operator in the country. None of us is as smart as all of us are. Now we can capture the best ideas in the industry and share them seamlessly. We’ll get through this if we hang together and share information.”

Gym operators and general managers can see and contribute ideas on topics including:

  • Developing a plan for a three-month shutdown
  • Finding financial help
  • Keeping good employees without going broke
  • Engaging employees and keeping their spirits up
  • Engaging members and the community

McHaney said that the MXM Ideation Laboratory software is easy to use and a good way to capture and identify great ideas.

The MXM Idea Lab is powered by Crowdicity, a product recently acquired by Medallia Inc. MXM is a Medallia partner. Crowdicity is an idea capture and voting system that captures ideas from any group and allows group members to vote and comment on those ideas. This is a fitness industry coronavirus-response specific idea laboratory for capturing, voting and sharing ideas, according to MXM.

“Like everyone else, all of our clubs are being affected and no one has been through this before,” Rich Drengberg, CEO of EoS Fitness, Scottsdale, Arizona, said in the release. “So often, the success a person has is driven by the pace in which they learn and apply new ideas and innovations. Having an industry-wide platform to greatly accelerate our learning, share ideas and come up with solutions is an incredible value to the entire industry.”

MXM is offering this ideation and voting solution to the industry at no charge, for as long as the crisis lasts, according to the release. The Crowdicity solution is normally priced per enterprise and can cost anywhere from hundreds per month to thousands. MXM is offing it to the fitness industry for free for as long as the crisis lasts.

“We are not concerned about the short-term revenue hit,” McHaney said. “We are concerned with helping the fitness industry operators in order to help them to first survive and then get back on their feet. We are club operators too and we are shutdown – we know and understand what they are going through.”
