Union Thugs Try to Ruin The Good Name of Gold’s Gym on Spokane’s South Hill

 

SPOKANE — For the past few days picketers have camped out in front of Gold’s Gym on Spokane’s South Hill on behalf of the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters.

Owners of Gold’s Gym on the South Hill say their business is being unfairly targeted and say they have nothing to do with the issue at all.

The Union has a labor dispute with Gold’s Gym, but it’s the one in Richland, Washington. The individuals protesting on Friday were not allowed to comment on any specifics.

Owners of the privately owned Spokane location say they are being unfairly targeted, because they have no ties to the dispute.

The Carpenter’s Union claims the gym in Richland recently hired contractors for a project, and allege that contracting company does not meet labor standards and does not pay for family health care of pension for employees.

KREM 2 News made several calls to representatives with the Carpenters Union, but those calls were not returned.
