World Gym’s New ‘Club Within a Club’ World Gym’s New ‘Club Within a Club’ .The success of World Gym International’s new small-group training program has inspired the Los Angeles-based health club franchise to open a standalone studio concept in 2019, the company recently announced.World Gym’s New ‘Club Within a Club’ World Gym currently offers World Gym Athletics in 13 of its U.S. clubs, with plans to expand the program to at least 30 clubs globally by the end of 2019. “World Gym Athletics has been the most transformative program in our more than 40-year history,” World Gym COO Doug Katona said in the release. “Owners see their whole gym improve operationally, culturally and financially once they launch World Gym Athletics. Once they experience #FitnessTruth, coaches, athletes and owners immediately embrace it.”
World Gym Athletics, created by Katona, combines HIIT workouts, functional training and Olympic-style lifting to create a studio-style experience for members. The company has certified more than 400 of its employees to lead the workouts.World Gym’s New ‘Club Within a Club’
In the next year, World Gym Athletics will offer three new signature workouts: a barbell-centric class, a rowing class and a mobility class.World Gym’s New ‘Club Within a Club’
This “club within a club” strategy is currently prevalent among many of the largest American-based health club companies. UFC Gym, Santa Ana, California, recently rolled-out a boutique-style offering with its CLASS by UFC Gym concept. The first standalone CLASS studio is slated to open in 2019.
Select Town Sports International locations are now offering specialized training spaces called UFX Zones. Gold’s Gym, in 2016, also launched its Gold’s Studio concept.
World Gym CEO Guy Cammilleri recently said he plans to double the company’s existing global club network to more than 400 locations by 2022.
