New Planet Fitness Opening!
According to a building permit issued by Louisville Metro Government late last week, equipping the Planet Fitness space is expected to cost $20,000. Louisville-based Russell Gregory’s Remodeling is the contractor on the project.
Tabor said the new Planet Fitness location likely will open this fall.
TRIO represented the building’s landlords, Edward L. and Benita G. Alvey, in the lease deal. Planet Fitness was represented by Fahr Juneja of Gulfstream Commercial Services in Louisville
Tabor did not disclose the financial terms of the lease, and it was not immediately known how many people the location will employ.
Louisville-area Planet Fitness locations are being developed by Planet Fitness franchisees Rick Kueber and David Kueber. I contacted them for more details on the new location but have not yet heard back.
Tabor said the new Planet Fitness will be in a retail shopping center with more than 73,000 square feet. It is located near the Gene Snyder Freeway in the Valley Station area.
Nearly half of the building is occupied by Vendors’ Village, an antique and vendor mall with locations in Kentucky and Indiana.
Tabor said TRIO Commercial Property Group is negotiating with other potential tenants to take the remainder of the building, which is about 20,000 square feet. Tabor could not identify those prospective tenants.
Planet Fitness currently has five Louisville locations, including a location at 5138 Dixie Highway, according to the fitness chain’s website. Other Louisville franchises are located on Urton Lane, South Hurstbourne Parkway, Jefferson Boulevard and South Second Street.
The chain also has franchises in Clarksville, New Albany and La Grange.
