WOODBURY – More than 1,000 gyms in New York, including eight on Long Island, are accused of treating customers unfairly.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said his office just settled with many gyms including Planet Fitness, Gold’s Gym, Curves and L.A. Fitness.

The AG says an investigation found some locations did not fully honor laws designed to protect customers. However, he you can protect yourself by reading the fine print.
