Snap Fitness closed after midnight fire

A MIDNIGHT fire at a Toowoomba gym is being investigated this morning.

The sign on top of Snap Fitness at the corner of West and James St caught fire about 12.45am, causing some damage to the roof.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services units from Anzac Ave and Kitchener St responded and had the blaze under control within 14 minutes.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and fire investigators will return to the building today.

Snap Fitness management has advised the gym will be closed until further notice.
