LA Fitness closing location at Bayshore Town Center.

The treadmills will stop turning this December when southeast Wisconsin’s only LA Fitness closes at Bayshore Town Center, the culmination of a Milwaukee-area expansion plan that didn’t pan out.
In an email to members, the Irvine, Calif.-based fitness chain wrote: “While we came to Wisconsin with hopes of opening multiple locations, as we have in other parts of the country, the right circumstances never presented themselves and so, after much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to close the Glendale club and exit the market.”

Privately held LA Fitness has more than 650 locations in the U.S. and Canada, many of which serve as mall anchor tenants.
Its Glendale club opened in 2007 at the Bayshore Town Center. Outside the mall’s anchors, it is one of Bayshore’s largest tenants, occupying 42,000 square feet.
