$800,000 YMCA Outdoor Fitness CenterThe YMCA is one step closer to putting its plan for an outdoor fitness center into action.
The Minot Area Community Foundation presented the YMCA with a check for $19,000, today, to help cover the cost.
The new outdoor fitness center will include fitness paths, circuit training, a playground, and basketball court.
Right now, $750,000 has been raised to cover the cost of the $800,000 project. The YMCA says they`re ready to get to work.
“We`re going into it at this point without trying to borrow or leverage any dollars and to help against it, it`s just really putting the project 100 percent forward,” said Minot YMCA Director Roger Mazurek.
Once the snow melts, construction of the fitness path and circuit training will begin. Mazurek says the project will take 60 days to complete with opening day set for mid-June. The YMCA is one step closer to putting its plan for an outdoor fitness center into action.
