lifetime fitness health club news story
A massive athletic club offering everything from waterslides to Spanish immersion classes for children will soon open in Roseville.
The approximately 308,000-square-foot facility, called Life Time Athletic Roseville, will hold its grand opening at May 12. It’s the Sacramento region debut for Minnesota-based Life Time Fitness Inc., which in 2012 announced plans to have a location in the area.
The two-story Roseville fitness club cost more than $30 million to build. It’s located at 1435 East Roseville Parkway. The club brought more than 300 jobs to the region, according to Life Time officials.
Amenities include two-story waterslides, 14 outdoor tennis courts and 400 pieces of training equipment. There’s an outdoor bistro with beer and wine service, and younger guests can enroll an an academy that offers classes such as yoga and Spanish immersion.
Of course, sweating in style comes at a price. Monthly membership rates range from $110 to $334, depending which option guests choose.
Life Time Athletic Roseville will be open 5 a.m. until 11 p.m., seven days a week.
It’s the company’s first facility in the Sacramento region and second club in California. Another local Life Time Fitness facility is in the works near Costco and Green Acres Nursery & Supply in Folsom.
Plans for the Folsom club surfaced last summer. Now, a sign at the location says “future site of Life Time Athletic Folsom.”
