Selby, as a systems manager, did not have authority to make purchases on behalf of the company. Nevertheless, from November 2013 to March 2015, Selby purchased 2,190 iPads from four technology vendors with whom Planet Fitness maintained credit accounts, according to U.S. Attorney Emily Gray Rice.
Planet Fitness paid for the iPads after Selby submitted fraudulent invoices to the company’s accounts payable department. He then took possession of the iPads when they arrived at the company’s corporate offices in Newington, and sold them for his personal benefit.
Selby’s scheme was uncovered when another Planet Fitness employee contacted a vendor about an iPad the employee had ordered. During a conversation with the vendor, the employee was made aware of significant iPad orders placed by Selby.
A company investigation resulted in a call to Newington police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Kinsella. – See more at: http://www.unionleader.com/article/20160129/NEWS03/160139999&source=RSS#sthash.LAF5IapC.dpuf
