Orangetheory Fitness Founder … Finalist in Florida for a Entrepreneur of the Year

Ellen Latham, the founder of Orangetheory Fitness, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 Award in Florida.

A panel of independent judges selected Latham, who founded the company in 2010. Award winners will be announced June 9 at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, Fla.

“I’m incredibly honored to be named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for services in Florida,” Latham said in a statement. “There are millions of companies that were considered for this recognition, and to be one of the top three is extremely humbling. It has been such a thrill to watch Orangetheory Fitness change so many people’s lives around the world and grow to 400-plus open studio locations in seven countries and counting.”

Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year overall award winner, will be announced Nov. 19 in Palm Springs, Calif.

Earlier this month, Planet Fitness CEO Chris Rondeau was named a semifinalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 Award for the New England region.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year program recognizes business leaders in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries. Founded and produced by EY, which provides assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards are sponsored by SAP America, Merrill Corp. and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
