Muv Fitness to become Gold’s Gym again under new owner

Gold's Gym Franchisees

Muv Fitness to become Gold’s Gym again under new owner…The former Gold’s Gym at 910 E. Eisenhower Blvd., Loveland, will again become a Gold’s after a year and a half as a Muv Fitness franchise.

According to a press release from Bryce Berry, who owns several Gold’s Gyms, he bought the gym from its owners and will revive the Gold’s name there. The deal closed Aug. 1, he said.

Former owners Steve and Lynn Mecham opened Gold’s Gym in the west end of the former Shopko building in January 2007. In January 2017 after their franchise agreement with Gold’s expired, they reopened as Muv Fitness.

Berry’s press release said the 41,000-square-foot facility will get a “state-of-the-art update” over the next several months. The club will get new signage and colors, a basketball court, group training areas, a large cardio area, yoga, steam rooms, a spinning room and a Gold’s signature weight area, according to the release.

The gym is open now and will remain open during the renovation, according to a spokeswoman. Gold’s will honor the memberships of existing Muv members, she said.

Members of Berry’s Gold’s Gym in Longmont and the new Loveland club will have access to both locations for the price of one membership, he said in the release.

Berry, who has been with Gold’s for 12 years, oversees Gold’s Gyms in Wyoming, Washington state and Colorado — Longmont, Montrose and Clifton.
