Gold’s Gym Franchisees Accept Buyouts in Three States.The Princeton Club, Madison, Wisconsin, recently announced it has acquired the Gold’s Gym in nearby Fitchburg, WKOW.com reported on Jan. 13. Gold’s Gym Franchisees Accept Buyouts in Three States.

Gold’s Gym of Rainbow City, Rainbow City, Alabama, permanently closed its door Jan. 15 following a buyout from local health club Absolute Fitness, according to a report by The Gadsen Times. Gold’s Gym owner Stace Beecham accepted a membership buyout in December, after being a brand franchisee since 1996. All of Gold’s Gym’s 2,600 members will pay the same dues under the same contracts at Absolute Fitness, the Times report said. The West Grand Avenue club offers 40,000 square feet of space and is open 24 hours.

Virginia-based Onelife Fitness announced it has acquired Gold’s Gym in Hagerstown, Maryland. Under Onelife, the Northern Avenue facility will receive equipment and atmosphere upgrades, according to a Jan. 4 report by Herald-Mail Media. In fall 2018, Onelife will open its largest facility to date (80,000 square feet) inside Hagerstown’s Valley Mall.Gold’s Gym Franchisees Accept Buyouts in Three States

24 Hour Fitness held a grand opening of its first Scarsdale, New York, club on Dec. 30, according to a media release by the California-based chain. The club is 40,000 square feet and features a sauna and indoor lap pool, as well as a lineup of studio classes including Zumba, BodyPump and bootybarre.

The Scottsdale Golf Club, The Country Club at DC Ranch, Scottsdale, Arizona, has approved an $8.5 million expansion project, according to a media release, which includes the construction of a new 12,000-square-foot fitness center. The space will feature group exercise rooms, locker rooms and children’s areas. With the help of two partners, the Milwaukee Athletic Club (MAC) recently announced it will undergo a a $30 million renovation project in fall 2018. Nearly every facet of the building will receive an upgrade, according to an OnMilwaukee report, including the fitness areas, dining areas, and meeting and event spaces. The MAC in 2018 is also partnering with Milwaukee-based Elite Sports Clubs, which will allow MAC members to access to all Elite facilities.
